While serving as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1980, he initiated discussions on formulating a permanent solution to drought by convening a conference of the state's permanently drought-affected talukas. Considering himself a dedicated servant of Shirur Taluka, this selfless and committed karmayogi consistently dreamed of the holistic development of farmers in rural areas and devoted his entire life to achieving that vision. He worked tirelessly on a wide range of issues, from improving village roads to developing educational institutions and healthcare facilities. His genuine affection, simplicity, and deep bond with ordinary people were among his most remarkable qualities. To honor his memory and preserve his legacy, the Late Baburao Daundkar Memorial Committee was established in 1997.
